Our Story

Us & Our Pets

As animal lovers, we always dreamed of having both a dog and a cat in our family. So when we finally got our own place in early 2023, the first thing we did was head to adoption drives, looking for a kitten to adopt.

2023: Luna & Cosmo
That's when we learned about single kitten syndrome, and instead of bringing home just one kitten, we adopted two: Luna and Cosmo. Their mother was rescued while pregnant, and they were born in the shelter alongside two other siblings. We put our plans for a dog on hold, not knowing it would be three years before we were ready again.

2026: Mira
In June 2026, we welcomed Mira into our family, a Malaysian street dog turned Singaporean. She and her five puppies were bailed out from the pound and spent around a year in a shelter before making their way to Singapore.

Every step of this journey — from Luna and Cosmo to Mira — is what led us here. Tame by Nature was born from wanting to create something we truly loved for our own pets, and for every pet and owner out there just like us.

Our Brand

Tame by Nature (formerly Namo et al) began with a simple idea. We couldn't find pet accessories we actually wanted, especially for cats, who always seemed to be an afterthought in the pet fashion space.

Our initial brand name, "Namo," was inspired by our own cats, Luna and Cosmo — and "et al," meaning "and others," represented their friends.

2023: The Idea
Name personalisation on pet walking accessories has long been popular overseas, and in recent years has become a global trend, especially in Singapore. We wanted to take it further — personalisation that was actually sustainable, designed for multi-pet households, where you could swap and reuse pieces instead of replacing them.

Mid-2024: Our First Creation
That idea became the Waterproof Collar with interchangeable letter charms, launched as a fashion accessory for cats.

Early 2025: Expanding to Dogs
By popular demand from dog owners, we expanded our sizing for bigger pets, and brought the same interchangeable charm concept to our Adaptis Harnesses.

Created from Scratch, Not Simply Sourced
The idea for creating our own harness came from not finding pieces we truly loved in the market. So we decided to create our own — drawing each design by hand and developing every detail with time, care, and intention.

Our first hand-drawn prints, Pastel Batik and Midnight Batik, were inspired by Singapore's batik heritage.

Even familiar patterns in our newer editions, such as Japanese Waves, Gingham and Houndstooth, are drawn and developed entirely by us. Working from the first sketch gives us the freedom to thoughtfully consider every colour, line, and detail, rather than simply applying an existing print.

Our Oatmeal Signature Motif, featuring our lucky clover emblem, takes this a step further — a pattern created entirely from our own design language.

April 2026: The Rebrand
We pre-launched Tame by Nature at Pet Expo in Singapore.

Why Tame by Nature? Because every one of our fur babies is exactly that: gentle, loving, and tame by nature. They deserve to be seen that way, not misunderstood.

While Namo et al was deeply personal to us, Tame by Nature is something bigger — a name that belongs not just to us, but to every pet, every owner, every story.

Today & Beyond
Our latest Everyday and Air Series were built from your feedback — we've improved on many original features, and made our swappable name personalisation system more convenient and secure than before.

Moving forward, we're excited to create accessories designed specially for skittish dogs, inspired by our everyday life and experiences with Mira.

If there's something you'd like to see from us, feel free to drop us a message — we'd love to hear it!
